Wednesday

Today went pretty well, I had a 3 by 2 mile workout that kicked my butt but I felt good. Tired, but good. I've noticed that i've been tired alot lately. And I mean every time I sit down, I want to fall asleep. Its not fun. I keep telling myself i'm not pushing myself too hard, and that cross country is what I still want to do but its hard. I can't even hang out with my friends lately because I have to bail out at like 8 oclock so that I can get some rest before the workout the next day. All my friends think i'm lame and i'm pretty sure its because i am. Sad, but true.

Classes went good today. But my classes weren't the highlight of the day. As I was backing out of my parking spot in the overly crowded parking lot after class, I BACKED INTO A CAR DRIVING BEHIND ME! I swear I looked behind me before I started reversing and he wasn't there and then 2 seconds later, crunch. Luckily no harm was done to my car but this dude has a nice dent in his passenger door. Luckily he was cool about it and not angry or anything. We exchanged insurance info and hopefully nothing terrible comes out of this. This was my first real accident and I was soooo mad at myself. I seriously could not believe I let myself do that. I felt like an idiot. I wanted to go jump off a building or something for being such a retard. But I didn't, I went to institute instead.

Today was my first day in institute and I guess I was really looking forward to something new and exciting after coming out of a tremendously boring senior year in seminary and much to my dismay, it was just like seminary. The good part was that it was a good lesson, and people were much more reverant in this class. In seminary there are water head kids that don't want to be there causing disruptions all the time and being irreverent, but since no ones parents are forcing their college age kids to go to institute everyone that was there, wanted to be there. That was the biggest thing that stood out to me. I could actually pay attention and not feel like the only one that was listening.

That was my day. :)

PS: Today I read an article by the Alternative Press about Matt and Kim and they have a new album coming out in November! So excited. And the new Pop Goes Punk! album is coming out and it looks like an amazing cd. For those of you who don't know what Pop Goes Punk! is, its a bunch of hardcore band covering whatever is on the local hit music channel. :)

This is one of my favorite covers from the old pop goes punk albums. its by an awesome band called Attack! Attack!

Day number 2

Today was my second day in college.

The day didn't start off too well due to my laziness, i pressed snooze on the alarm clock and didn't get to practice on time. When I finally rolled into the parking lot, the guys on my team ran right past my car at the beginning of their run. Luckily another teammate of mine was late as well and we ran together. Due to Monday's really tough workout we were both pretty sore so instead of doing the written 12 miles we only did 8. It felt sufficient and my calves were still killing me so I didn't want to push it too hard and get injured.

After showering and such I headed over to Spanish class. Today, a teammate and friend of mine named Carly had her first day in my spanish class! Which is super great because now i know someone in that class. She is actually the only one I have ever met before in any of my classes. Spanish was good and we got out 10 minutes early which is always good.

After spanish I was really hungry so I went to the thunderbird cafe and got a burger for $1.70! And it was actually good. So that place is definitely going to be re-visited by me soon. After that I went to my English class for the first time. The teacher seemed really chill and laid back and I feel like I will do well in that class. I have been looking forward to my English class because its my best subject and i've always liked english. After all, it is my native tongue.

My last class of the day was communications and all we did was learn each others names and introduce ourselves and tell the class a little background on ourselves. So i don't really know anything about the class but I liked the teacher. She looked like Rosie O'Donnell and had an outgoing attitude. Which I liked. The attitude part, not the Rosie part so much.

The highlight of my day came right after class. I was walking to my car while checking my twitter on my phone. I happen to follow one of my favorite celebrities, Rob Dyrdek. I was first introduced to Rob on his MTV show called Rob and Big and was hooked. I loved the show because it was hilarious and super cool. Rob now has a show called Fantasy Factory and it is about him and his life in business. Rob used to be a professional skateboarder but has moved on to entrepreneurial ventures. Anyways, his twitter said that he was in Scottsdale, Arizona! He put the address of a gas station that he was doing a signing at on the twitter message and I put the address into my phone and it said it was only 15 minutes away from MCC where I had just gotten out of class at. I drove as fast as I could, legally, to go meet him. I got to this gas station and it is literally one of the smallest corner store gas stations I had ever seen and thought I was at the wrong place. But i went inside anyways and there he was! I went up to him and talked to him for a minute and got a picture and everything. After that, I went home and rested a while before going to work at Quiznos. Work was ok, I learned the rest of the stuff at the store, so now I can pretty much do anything there. It was kind of exciting, but also a bit nerve wracking. Lyndee came to visit my at the end of my shift and I sat and ate a sandwich with her for a while before going home.

Tomorrow I have spanish, and computers again. So it should be a good day. I'm also going to register for an institute class and hopefully get a credit card so i can buy books.

Peace Out!

First Day in College

So, Today was my first day of college. I started at Mesa Community College and thought today was as good as ever to start keeping a journal. And I figured it would be easy online.

I woke up at 4:30 am. I got in the car and drove to Papago Park in Tempe and met my cross country team for what was supposed to be an 8 mile sand workout on the sand volleyball courts by what used to be Tempe Town Lake. We started with a 2 mile warm up and then got to the volleyball courts and removed our shoes and socks. We ran our workout today barefoot to strengthen ankle and Achillesr muscles in the foot. I have always been a fan of running barefoot because I feel faster barefoot. We had a loop around all 6 or so courts and up a grass hill and across a flat grass straightaway to the finish. That was 1. I had 11 more to go. By the time I had done all 12 reps, I was already at 7.7 miles including the warm up. My calves were on fire from running in the sand and my chest was burning from lack of hydration the day before. I was so excited to have already done that much mileage because that meant that we would only have a .3 mile cool down. But knowing my coach, that wasn't going to happen. We went back the way we came and finished at almost 10 miles for the day. I felt it was a good workout but I was dead tired, hungry and out of gas to get back to school. I headed out to school and stopped at Circle K to get gas and put my last 2 dollars in hoping it would get me to school and all the way back to Queen Creek. It did and I went straight to the locker room to shower up and find my first class.

My first class was Spanish 101 at 9 am. Luckily, I got out of the locker room at 8:20 because it took me about 30 minutes to find the class on that huge campus. I had just enough time to partake of the the free doughnuts and water they had on campus. I was in class on time and enjoyed it. It was only the first day and all we did was go over the syllabus but I can tell its going to be a relatively easy class. The teacher is very funny and although its hard to understand his english he seems like he isn't there to watch you fail but to rather succeed. :)

After spanish I had a 40 minute break till my Computer class at 10:30. After locating my class I went back outside to see if they had any water left. It was almost lunch time so they had water, punch and sandwiches! It  was awesome because I had no food, and no money. I had alot to drink because the sandwiches went fast and I actually didn't get one. So i tried to satisfy my hunger with punch. It worked temporarily but it made me have to go to the bathrooom. I was already in class when i realized this and didn't know if it was appropriate to ask to go to the bathroom in a college class so i just held it. The person at the computer next to me probably thought i was a freak for jittering around so miuch. The class seemed promising and I think I will do well.

I was done with school by 11:45 and am so happy with my schedule. I have that schedule on Mondays and Wednesdays and have a totally different schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays. After school I drove to my place of employment, Quiznos, and picked up my minuscule paycheck and went straight to the bank to cash it and fill my car with gas. I also took my laptop to Starbucks to partake of the free wi fi and did the homework I had for my computer class in the air conditioning. It was nice, and I felt like a true college student. After that I went home to get some food, and watched some TV before Lyndee, Nicole and Dallin came over to watch a movie. I like my friends, they are fun.

Tomorrow I have Cross Country at 5:30 and Spanish, English and Communications classes at school. I hope my second day is as good as my first. :)
